My parents bought me amazing over the ear noise canceling headphones, they were 0+ and they said they wouldn’t get me another pair if I broke them. I had them in my backpack, and someone threw my backpack, and snapped the headphones. They were absolutely amazing! Are there any headphones that aren’t nearly as expensive, but are great quality, cheap, and sturdy? I really need, them, I edit film, I am going to college in a week, and I need some good headphones.

I am sitting here in a coffee shop yet again because inconsiderate, irresponsible neighbors have denied me the usage of my home. Since early this afternoon, a pack of unsupervised children have been running through my yard "playing", which apparently requires them to emit ear piercing shrieks for no reason, over and over and over again. In the past when I have confronted their "parents" about this issue, they just said "oh well little Bobby has always been allowed to play wherever he wants", "they always do that", and the kicker, "yes we send them out off our property so we don’t have to listen to it for awhile". Local police are unfortunately of the mindset that children can do no wrong and do not respond to calls about trespassing children. The kids sound like they are being murdered but really they just haven’t been raised to consider others. As a child, neither myself, my siblings, or my friends were allowed to go onto someone else’s property and scream for no reason. It simply wasn’t something that went on. I have hyperacusis, which makes it very very difficult for me to sit through their screaming episodes. Anyway, I am looking for some insight as to why this particular behavior is not only allowed, by some parents it is encouraged.
Before anyone mentions it, yes I DO have a fence, in my backyard only. Fencing in the front yard is not allowed, so that’s where little Bobby and friends run through and "play".

Also these are not rental homes so there is no landlord or anything I bring this to.
-I- am the selfish one because I don’t want random children trespassing on my property. Ahhh that is rich. Modern unparents, ya gotta love ‘em folks!

I am a 16 year old boy who has been suffering from tmj since 15 . I don’t get severe pain but i get lots of ticks and clicking from my jaw when i eat , run or sometimes little movements trigger the clicks. I soon got tinnitus after my Tmj and i think it was caused because of my mild underbite . I have perfectly straight teeth its just my jaw is not well aligned . Do you think once i have a better and well aligned jaw the tmj will be helped and go away ? It has been affecting me so much i can’t even concentrate anymore , im starting to get more symptoms from this disorder such as tickling sensations in forehead and short term memory loss and i’m really scared and worried . My sleep has also been affected because of the tinnitus which i’m guessing was caused by the tmj which was caused by the mild underbite . My parents think it will go away with braces but i don’t think they are positive of that . What do you guys think . Advice / answers would be appreciated .

I have had the so called "ringing sound" in my ears before. Unlike before though, it had only lasted about a day if not more. This sound hasn’t went away since early yesterday morning. It is the longest I’ve had this sound and is driving me crazy. I researched about it a few hours ago after realizing it was still there. (i was hoping a good nights sleep would help it settle) Due to the sound, everything else sounds much fainter. As all of you might of had this before, you know what I’m talking about. Now what I have researched said that the causes are most likely from loud noises, stress, too much medicine (aspirin/etc.) and so on. I have a few guesses on what has caused mine. Well to begin with, I’m 17. Friday night, I met up with my friends and my gf. Long story short, me and her were caught in car, we’re both in a lot of trouble with parents. I have a feeling that the stress from that has caused mine. Plus, I am worried about her and won’t know anything until tomorrow at school. That night and the following morning, I took a little too much of aspirin so that is another likely cause. I just want to know what all of you think since I have read plenty of information off of websites but would rather hear something directly from someone who has experienced this. I’m hoping it goes away on its own as it has before many times.

I’m pretty convinced that I suffer from the condition called Hyperacusis. The noises I can’t STAND are the tv from a different room (just my luck. my bedroom is the one right over it) and my parents talking (especially in the car. but also in rooms in the house that i can hear them.) This morning I was awoken at 5:30 because they started talking in their room. and I was kept up by them till midnight because of their choice of night-time activity. … So what I do is I break down and I cry and I get really pissed and I hate it. This has always happened at home… except once when I was trying to sleep at camp and another girl was snoring. I cried. At camp. Good thing I didn’t wake anyone up… Now I’m rambling. Apologies. Anyways, I can’t sleep and I can’t sit in my room and I’m going in to 8th grade and if I don’t sleep and get the quiet I need it’s gonna start impacting my grades. It’s getting so hard that I’m considering going to live with my brother. What do I do about this? It’s been going on for over a year and it hasn’t gotten any better. Please help!
earplugs don’t work. Before I’ve had to fall asleep to music and it makes it worse because I can’t sleep peacefully. So ipods are also not an option.
