- mild hearing loss, low quality of the sound(right ear)
- high-pitched tinnitus (right ear)
- discomfort (right ear)
- cracking sound when swallowing (left ear)
Those were the symptoms I was experiencing for 3 months after my ear infection. (My doctor treated it with neomycine ear drops)
It got worse 1 month ago, I noticed a yellow ear discharge from both ears. I visited an ENT specialist and he told me that it’s just ear wax / sebum (Picture: http://i36.tinypic.com/214p95k.jpg). He syringed my left ear and it was clear for a week (my hearing was fine). When I started to feel pain in the right ear, he applied Castellani’s Paint in the ear canal.
A different doctor syringed my ears again 1 week later and I woke up the next day with both ears swollen…
He diagnosed me with chronic ear infection and prescribed some medicines: Ciprofloxacine ear drops called Proxacin (0.3% 3 mg/ml 5 ml, 4 drops per day), Augmentin (Amoxicillinum Acidum clavulanicum 2g / day), Budesonide nasal spray (2 doses / day), Ketokonazole (Nizoral) tablets (200mg / day)
I feel really bad right now, my hearing hasn’t recovered and I suffer from many side effects of those medicines. I can hear a heartbeat in my left ear after applying those ear drops and my tinnitus is louder. My pharmacophobia makes it even more difficult. Please, help me.
I have had Tinnitus for around 6 months. I am aware that it can be caused by a variety of different things. I also understand that Tinnitus is probably incurabe – and this is something very troubling to me as i don’t think i can live my life like this. Anyway, are there any methods that have been proven to work, with people who have actually once experienced Tinnitus and found a cure or relief? I believe it may have been caused by exposure to noise, although i never listen to loud noises. It is in my right ear, and i have noticed that i hear slightly less out of this ear. I have been to the Doctor who rushed me out and didn’t really give me any time to explain myself, but prior to that, another Doctor checked my hearing and said it was not out of the ordinary, although the ear with Tinnitus is a few megahurts or some noise measurement like that different from the other. However, i have also noticed my Tinnitus is slightly worse, and i feel like i have a lot of ear wax in my ear. I am desperate for a cure or any form of relief. My friend who also has it has told me that he has actually been to the Doctor and was prescribed some sort of new medication designed to get rid of Tinnitus. Apparently, it takes a month, and after the trial of 3 pills a day, the Tinnitus should be removed. Since i have never heard of such a cure for Tinnitus, i am not sure if this dream could even be true. Anyway, if anyone can help me ease the Tinnitus, i would greately appreciate it, as it interferes with school, sleep and i constantly worry about it. Im on the edge here, thanks very much, i appreciate it very much.
Also, there are a variety of websites with claimed cures/ reliefs, and i was wondering if they were a scam, or if they actually help. I don’t know why anyone would even want to make a scam like that, as that would be very cruel. Thanks again.
One last thing – I have heard of Lipoflavanoid, and my friend has told me it works, as he knows people who have used it and have gotten rid of it. Any one know about it? Also, my other friend is using it know, and says that it already helps.
Alright, I hear a very slight ringing noise in my head right now that I am wondering if it is Tinnitus, or just my head.
It is hard to explain the volume level of the sound, but it is slight, and I only hear it in dead silence. I have never noticed this before I was advised to turn down the volume on my head phones or I will get a ringing in my ear, and then I started paying attention and I heard something. Now I don’t believe I have ever heard absolute silence, but I am not quite sure if I always heard this or I am turning paranoid by worrying about this.
I always passed my hearing tests, Last one was last year, (except for one along time ago where I had ear wax build up) so I don’t think I have Tinnitus, but maybe I developed it. I also experience 3 second loud noises on rare occasions (for example today in school) and maybe that was a quick Tinnitus symptom.
So my questions are…
Is Tinnitus loud or really soft?
Do yo know if it is my mind convincing myself, or Tinnitus?
Was that noise I heard in school sound like Tinnitus?
If you need anymore information please tell me. Thanks in advance!
Hi. I’m a little concerned about my hearing. Over the last 2 or 3 months the hearing on my right side has drastically reduced. This is alongside tinnitus in the same ear. I am also getting frequent head aches and get dizzy spells quite a lot as well. I have been to the doctor and she has referred me for a hearing test. She didn’t mention ear wax or fluid so I’m guessing its not that. I have been researching it and have only come up with menieres disease or an acoustic neuroma. I just wondered if anyone has any other ideas. It is making life quite difficult at the moment. Oh and I’m only 29 so I’d hope that age related hearing loss wouldn’t be possible yet.
i have been for an ear test and an ear exam. i have definate hearing impairment in my right ear (struggling at less than 30db) and there is no wax or fluid at all. he said my ears are spotless, no sign of any infection or anything. My dizziness is getting worse, don’t feel safe walking down the street which with 2 small children to get to school isn’t very good. I am seeing an ENT surgeon on tuesday and am really worried about it.
I am 17, and almost 4 years ago, I had a really bad double ear infection. The day before the pain started, I noticed that there was ringing in my ears, but did not pay much attention to it. I got rid of the infection, but the ringing is still going. I am not so sure why the ringing is still going on. I have always had bad ear wax, so I am wondering if that could be a factor, also.
I had hearing tests done after I went back to the doctor because of the tinnitus, and he said that my hearing is perfect and that I have no apparent hearing loss.
