EXPERTS Can loud snoring cause healing loss or tinnitus?
Tinnitus is ringing in the ear.
My b/f snores so loud, I can’t sleep, even with earplugs. Recently I hear high pitches sometimes in ear or swooshing sound but hearing in general seems fine.
B/f went to dr. and he just told b/f lose weight. Co-pays cost too much to just keep going back.
I know some of you worry about sleep apnea, in general he doesn’t seem to stop breathing or have sleepiness during the day. Only once he woke up gasping for air like he forgot to breathe.
The question is, sleeping next to him, can Iose hearing? It’s so loud, that he can be heard downstairs. Sometimes he’ll let out this enormous snore that even wakes him.
Uggghhh, going crazy!!!

I would be MORE worried that your BF has a sleep disorder.
My daughters husband had the SAME problem, she had to sleep on the couch, He had a sleep study done, and found out he had sleep apnea. Now sleeps with a CPAP, and NO MORE SNORING!!!!
PURSUE a sleep study for your BF!!! Don’t let them tell him to just loose weight, that will not solve his immediate problem!
BTW, you won’t develope tinnitus from his snoring, but you could have some hearing damage certainly!!!
If he is that loud you need him tested for sleep apnea now not wait till he is so severe you can tell he stops breathing that much. Have him visit an ENT & ask. He could have a nasal obstruction or throat obstruction. I tell you from over 15 yrs experience to do this. You will tune out your hearing, be exhausted & moody then get ill! You will have problems from not hearing the alarm & missing work/school. It’s horrible. It is not healthy & we had dr.’s say oh just lose weight. Yes that helps no matter what but he needs checked. Sleep deprivation is horrid on both of you. If he is snoring that loudly then he is fighting too hard to pull the air in to breathe & he will get to the point where his blood pressure starts climbing too. You will both be happier & healthier if he just does the sleep study now.
My ex has sleep apnea. CPAP machine let me sleep nicely! One of my kids had the tonsils & adenoids so enlarged he couldn’t breathe. His were removed & the snoring stopped!Good luck to you.
Loud snoring does not always mean sleep apnea. We are exposed to lot of noise in our day life, so don’t worry too much about snoring sound.
