Does everyone hear a sound when it's quiet?
First of all I DO NOT HAVE TINNITUS SO PLEASE DON’T SAY THAT.
So, is it normal to hear a low sound when it’s all quiet in a room? For example when you’re going to sleep. And the reason why I hear it may be because I have wax in my ears which I’m trying to remove, so that might be it. But I’m just wondering, ’cause I can’t remember if I heard this sound before I got wax in my ears. So, is it normal or not? Thanks!

Yes. Have you never, as a child, held a shell to your ear to ‘hear the sea’?
Some head noise is normal. If you go into a sound proof booth and normal outside noise is diminished, you can becomes aware of these normal sounds.
We are usually not aware of this because outside noise masks them.
Anything, such as wax or a foreign body in the external ear, that blocks these background sounds will cause us to be more aware of our own head sounds.
Not that I know, unfortunately. Even back when I had wax in my ears that never happened with me..
I have the same noises when I work at my desk which is right under the refrigerator and I noticed they are very noisy when everything is quiet. I am sensitive to those sounds when no one isn’t. I have a hunch it’s all of those noises in the background but in the near future I am going to an ear doctor just to make sure. I have just went under major thyroid surgery and I had cancer plus radioactive therapy all within the last few months. My mind has been through a lot of stress so I am just giving myself time so I don’t panick. Hopefully, it’s just backup and having my ears cleaned by doctors will help. I’m trying to not jump to conlcusions! Also, I am hypothyroid so that may be way too. Hang in there guys!!
