Can everyone hear/feel their pulse at night or is it just because of my tinnitus?
I was wondering if anyone else has trouble sleeping because they can feel their pulse in their neck or hear it.. or even if it doesn’t keep you from sleeping.
is it common or not?

IT DRIVES ME CRAZY!!! It’s on my right side. I hear whooshing all the time. It reminds me of the noise of a prenatal ultrasound. It only stops if I hold my breath. Not a practical solution!
Something that might be looking into is whether it could be something called a DAVF, in which case it might be fixable. In the meantime, just know that I am awake, too!
I have experienced this off and on for no apparent reason. I have found that drinking alcohol will cause it. I have found that if I keep my ear off the pillow it helps. Sleep on your back and see if that helps.
After a shower or just moving around a lot, i feel my pulse in my temples when i try to sleep. My blood pressure then lowers until i cant feel it.
tinnitus can be a symptom of an underactive thyroid. You may want to have your levels checked. If your TSH is between 1 and 3 then that’s good. If it is over 3 then your thyroid is underactive and your body is throwing out more thyroid stimulating hormone to get it going. This can cause ringing in your ears. I know because I have Hashimoto’s Autoimmune Thyroiditis. You may also want to have the TPOab and TGab tests done since they are doing the blood draw. That will tell you if you have the autoimmune disease which would cause the underactive thyroid.
Also, the thyroid helps in regulating your heart rate and it could be that it is pounding harder than it should be due to this same illness. Irradic heart rate is also common.
if your temp is off that’s another symptom i.e. always too cold. If you get winded easily, skin rash…it all goes back to an underlying glutin intolerance.
Good luck and God Bless.
