I keep reading up on electronic ear muffs, and some of them sey they can shut out noise past 82db. If they ear muffs only have a NRR(noise reduction rating) 22, then wouldn’t a firearm blast at 140db, still be heard at approximately 118db?
Can someone please explain
I’ve had tinnitus for over 2 months now. It’s so frustrating!
I ask because I recently developed Tinnitus which I don’t want to make any worse!

Your Question
Help, there’s a chance my dad may have a brain tumour, but he won’t/can’t have an MRI scan?
He went to have a scan a year ago but he walked out because there’s a chance he could go blind as he is always on building sites, so may have tiny bits of metal behind his eyes.
He’s had tinnitus for about 4 or 5 years now and says it was caused by someone firing a nail gun on a site… But he’s not sure, and could just be lying to me. He admits he’s slightly more deaf in one ear with the tinnitus, and i think another symptom i’ve noticed is lack of concentration? But i’m not entirely sure. There are no other symptoms i know of, no headaches etc, and other than these things he’s a healthy 46 year old guy… Though wont go to the doctor as he feels nothing’s wrong with him.
I dont know what to do, he’s had tinnitus for awhile, are brain tumours noticable sooner or are they gradual?
Thanks in advance
7 days ago I went to bonfire night in lewes-it was insane, there were really loud bangers going of at my feet about once every 5 seconds..I wore earplugs but they fell out around half way through. Now i have had ringing in my ears ever since, although my hearing is cleared and not muffled, its still ringing.
What i really want to know is if it perminant or not???? IM SO WORRIED!
