Hi Everyone,
I’m looking to buy the best IEM’s under 00. I’d be using them to hear my guitar amp and singing. I have a very bright amp (has EVM 12L’s in them which are so clean and pretty sounding, but needs to be turned up to get nice tone) which has caused me to have some ear problems (tinnitus). I purchased prescription ear plugs and they are good at blocking out sound, but they knock out the high ends, so I can’t enjoy my music. They also pop out a little when I smile, which is very annoying. I assume they do this as my jaw pushes them out slightly when I smile (and they were molded to my ears when I was not smiling), so maybe non-custom ear plugs would ironically fit my ears better than the customs. Do they block out the noise just as well as the customs?
Hearing protection is my number one priority (so they must be able to block out outside noise as much as possible) but I also want as realistic a sound, to the actually sound coming out of my amp, as much as possible.
I’ve been looking into the Ultimate Ears IEM, but I’ve also heard good things about the Sure E3C’s.
Does anyone have an opinion? Thanks….
Thanks Character Zero. Actually, I was planning on getting a small mixer, plugging the monitors into that and thus controlling the sound myself. I’m planning on doing gigs by myself. I have a great looping pedal to record some rythms on. I could use a drummer, but what can you do…..
In terms of the EVM’s… I put them in a fender twin reverb 65 reissue and was told that since the amp was only 85 watts, only 85 watts would come out…
So it wouldnt make a diff how many watts the speakers are (other than theyd be cleaner sounding the more wattage they are)….
