2: Rick Rotella
Rick Rotella is a psychologist, who spends his days listening to patients talk about their lives, experiences and feelings. A few months ago, he experienced a bad case of the flu. Since his recovery, Rick has noticed that he hears sounds that seem quieter and distorted. He is also unable to hear “s”, “f”, and “z” sounds. These symptoms are interfering with Rick’s ability to help his patients, and he needs you to help him restore his health to normal.

#3: Carol Johnson
Carol Johnson is a middle-aged mother of two who loves to play soccer with her children. During the past few months, she has noticed her peripheral vision deteriorating, and she does not understand why the rest of her eyesight is fine. She has been to a doctor about the problem before, but he could not explain the cause of Carol’s sight problem, as she displays no further symptoms. Because he could not find the problem, he was unable to treat her and her vision is slowly becoming worse.

John Smith is a twenty-year-old college student. A few months ago, he was diagnosed with depression, but his treatment has not been effective. In addition, he is experiencing a form of vertigo in which the world seems to be spinning around him (episodic rotational vertigo). He is also having trouble with his hears. John has a “plugged” feeling in one ear, which varies in intensity, episodic hearing loss, episodic tinnitus. He does not understand these new symptoms, and he wonders if they are connected to his depression. The other doctors he has seen have not helped him, as they have not seen a case like this before.
