Let’s see, symptom:
Ringing sound only in the left ear
There may or may not be a very slight discomfort inside my ear, it’s so slight that it’s hard to tell what it is.

I just started hearing it yesterday, and normally I would just ignore it, I usually get Tinnitus in one ear or the other every once in awhile, except that this ring lasted for about 6 hours…nearly drove me mad.
Problem is, I wasn’t listening to anything loud when this started. Can it begin well after listening to the loud noise that damages your hearing?(if that’s what is happening)

It then seemed to vanish, until I, quite stupidly later that night, listened to something unusually loud, the rinning came back of course -_- but then once again seemed to disappear.
I go to sleep, wake up this morning, and for a moment I can’t hear it and I think it’s gone, then I notice it. So it came back sometime during the night?

Any possible diagnoses and/or ways to treat or prevent it from getting worse until my doctor appointment in a few weeks?

(A family member suggested that it my headphones causing the problem, she thinks that even if I don’t listen to them very loudly, as long as it’s ‘concentrated’ it’ll cause damage *shrug*)
I have none of the other common symptoms of tinnitus, just the rining, no vertigo, vomiting, etc.
