I dropped my healthcare coverage in August ’07 because I couldn’t afford to pay it (self-employed) anymore. Over the past year or so I have noticed a whoosing sound in my ears – at first it was only at bed, but now it is at least 30% of the time. The sound resembles the heartbeat or pulse – and by my own diagnosis – I believe I have pulsatile tinnitus. I feel an urgency to be seen by a doctor – as at best this is probably my anemia and blood pressure acting up or at worst, could lead to an aneurysm or stroke. All of the websites insist that you be seen right away. I can still renew my insurance (up to 6 months after cancellation), without having to go through the whole 9 yard process. So I’ve been planning to do so. However, my concern is — HOW LONG WILL I HAVE TO WAIT after renewing to see a doctor? If I go right away, will they say that it is pre-existing and not cover any resulting treatment? Or does each company handle this differently?
Do I need to lie to the doctor then and not say that it has been occurring for some time? And no, I’m only 38, so I don’t have AARP insurance.

i have no idea what to do. my parents thought it got better after using the nasal spray my doc gave me, but it did no good, and now i have no idea how to tell my mom and it is almost a whole year. I worry every day about it, so plz help.

I have only been taking wellbutrin for about a week. I have a constant ringing in my ears. I can deal with it if it goes away, but will it? Has the ringing stopped for anyone else? How long did you have it? I take 150 SR twice a day. I used to take 150 xl twice a day and I never had any ringing. On the wellbutrin website it says that ringing is a side effect from the XL ( which I never experienced ) and did not have ringing associated with SR ( which I am taking now). Please tell me what you have experienced with this drug.

I went shooting on 8/18/09. I did not wear any hearing protection and my left ear is still ringing. Over the last day or so the pitch seems to be getting higher. is this going to be a problem for the rest of my life?

Okay, so I have this throbbing noise in my ear. My left ear…and I go to my ENT doctor every 2 weeks. He never said anything about what causes the sound, but then again I never asked. I have a very small amount of tinnitus. What do you think it could be, and would my doctor have said something by now if it was something serious?
